Comparison of meanfield and Monte Carlo approaches to dynamic hysteresis in Ising ferromagnets
نویسنده
چکیده
The dynamical hysteresis is studied in the kinetic Ising model in the presence of a sinusoidal magnetic field both by Monte Carlo simulation and by solving the dynamical meanfield equation for the averaged magnetisation. The frequency variations of the dynamic coercive field are studied below the critical temperature. In both the cases, it shows a power law frequency variation however it becomes frequency independent in the low frequency regime for the mean field case.

Curie Temperatures for Binary Ising Ferromagnets on the Square Lattice
High-accuracy Swendsen and Wang Monte Carlo simulations were performed to study the Curie temperature of ferromagnetic, binary Ising systems on the square lattice. Our results are compared with mean-field like approaches. Based on these former theories, we give a new formula to estimate the Curie temperature of the system. PACS number(s): 75.10H; 75.20E; 75.40M

Dynamic phase transition in diluted kinetic Ising model in two dimensions has been studied in presence of external time dependent oscillating magnetic field applying Glauber Monte Carlo spin flip dynamics. A dynamic phase transition from a dynamically ordered to dynamically disordered ferromagnet is identified studying dynamic order parameter against temperature for different concentrations of ...
متن کاملNonequilibrium Phase Transitions in Model Ferromagnets: A Review
The thermodynamical behaviours of ferromagnetic systems in equilibrium are well studied. However, the ferromagnetic system, far from equilibrium, became an interesting field of research in last few decades. The ferromagnetic systems in the presence of a steady magnetic field are also studied by using standard tools of equilibrium statistical physics. The ferromagnet in the presence of time-depe...
متن کاملKinetic Ising model in an oscillating field : Finite - size scaling at the dynamic phase transition
We study hysteresis for a two-dimensional, spin-1/2, nearest-neighbor, kinetic Ising ferromagnet in an oscillating field, using Monte Carlo simulations. The period-averaged magnetization is the order parameter for a proposed dynamic phase transition (DPT). To quantify the nature of this transition, we present the first finite-size scaling study of the DPT for this model. Evidence of a diverging...
متن کاملDynamic Phase Transition and Hysteresis in Kinetic Ising Models
We briefly introduce hysteresis in spatially extended systems and the dynamic phase transition observed as the frequency of the oscillating field increases beyond a critical value. Hysteresis and the decay of metastable phases are closely related phenomena, and a dynamic phase transition can occur only for field amplitudes, temperatures, and system sizes at which the metastable phase decays thr...
